1997 Squier Musicmaster Vista Bass $525 + CONUS shipping

I bought this in 2019 and I’m not giving it nearly the attention it so richly deserves.

Thanks to the Vista-Tone pickup and a very brief production run, these are semi-legendary basses, great sounding and wicked fun to play. Performance-wise, they eat the Fender MM’s lunch (IMHO).

Alder body, maple neck, rosewood board. 30” scale, string-thru bridge, 19 frets. Made in China, all stock, very good + condition although pickguard is discolored. 8.4 lbs. on the bathroom scale.

Strung with the rounds that came on it when I bought it; don’t know what brand they are. All known blems shown in pics (back is squeaky-clean, hard to get a shot without some glare). Reach out with any questions. Ships in padded Fender P gig bag. CONUS sales only, please.

Thanks for looking and stay well out there!

The Squier Vista series was one of the best import lines Fender ever produced. I have owned quite a few pieces from that line. If I had the extra scratch I’d be all over this just to try it out.

It's "rout," not "route."

Would you mind telling me what the width of the nut is? I may be interested in this for my son, but he's looking for a particular width. Thanks!
Hey thanks for your interest. My measurement: 42mm / 1 11/16".

Hope that's in his wheelhouse, but if not no worries.

Great bass, great price. I have the same one with a red replacement guard. Not nearly in the fine shape yours is in. I wouldn’t sell it for as inexpensively as you are. GLWTS

Really nice short scale Squier! -Thot about it some, but then in short scalers I prefer the lighter weight and slimmer J neck & nut like on the Squier CV Mustangs. Folks who prefer P style setups in short scale sh really like this one tho...

Dang, the walking thread zombie alert.
I bought a used one from a pawn shop to give my older daughter for Christmas. I just made sure it worked before I purchased it then Cleaned it when I got home. My daughter was a natural on bass but never pursued it. Years later my guitarist son borrowed it to keep it on stage for jam sessions. He's had it for a while now. But a couple of years ago it started cutting out on him. He dropped it off so I could repair it. Once I did and finally got a chance to hear it, MAN o MAN that thing Sounds Great. Funny thing is that's what led me here. I wanted to know more about it. I realized others thought the same.
