1997 Squier Musicmaster Vista Bass $525 + CONUS shipping

I bought this in 2019 and I’m not giving it nearly the attention it so richly deserves.

Thanks to the Vista-Tone pickup and a very brief production run, these are semi-legendary basses, great sounding and wicked fun to play. Performance-wise, they eat the Fender MM’s lunch (IMHO).

Alder body, maple neck, rosewood board. 30” scale, string-thru bridge, 19 frets. Made in China, all stock, very good + condition although pickguard is discolored. 8.4 lbs. on the bathroom scale.

Strung with the rounds that came on it when I bought it; don’t know what brand they are. All known blems shown in pics (back is squeaky-clean, hard to get a shot without some glare). Reach out with any questions. Ships in padded Fender P gig bag. CONUS sales only, please.

Thanks for looking and stay well out there!

  2. Nice bass! So that's what a black body should look like? Mine looked like the previous owner had used it as a garden shovel when I got it. But for $100 off CL it was a good deal. And now it's Candy Apple red.

    GLWTS!

    Headstock too?

  4. No, I opted out because the pguard I was putting on was a black/gray pearloid.

Nice example. My black one is close to this condition, and my white one has a few more blems. These are everything you said. GLWS!

Thanks! I bought this one as the initial purchase in my four-step master plan to own all four designer colors.

    Then life happened.

The Squier Vista series was one of the best import lines Fender ever produced. I have owned quite a few pieces from that line. If I had the extra scratch I’d be all over this just to try it out.

Would you mind telling me what the width of the nut is? I may be interested in this for my son, but he's looking for a particular width. Thanks!

Hey thanks for your interest. My measurement: 42mm / 1 11/16".

Hope that's in his wheelhouse, but if not no worries.

Great bass, great price. I have the same one with a red replacement guard. Not nearly in the fine shape yours is in. I wouldn’t sell it for as inexpensively as you are. GLWTS

My 1st bass was a 78 Musicmaster, black with a black guard. Cool bass.

Hard to believe this is still here! No one want to join our forum? These are hard to find, even in this color, especially in this condition.

@halfwound121 A few nibbles so far. There's a buyer for every bass. Fortunately I'm neither in a hurry nor impatient.
