This is a great, and somewhat rare Squier II Precision Bass Made In India '89-'91
Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 1 5/8" nut width. Solid wood body with an aged Blizzard Pearl finish, white 3-ply fingerboard, pickup has original cream-white cover. standard bridge, full sized knobs. Comes with original Fender molded case.
Squiers and Squier IIs were made in a variety of locations. Many of the Squier IIs had no pick guard and a plywood body, this has a solid wood body (not sure what the wood is) and a pick guard. This series of Made In India Squiers (both basses and guitars) don't say "Made In India" anywhere on the headstock. Also, the serial number was on a stick-on label on the neck heel, and on this one, like many, it came off long ago. So - it doesn't say where it was made or have a serial number. But I've done lots of research and found pictures of other instruments just like it. (I have pics of others I can show you if you want) Another MII P I saw had the identical "Inspected by.." label on the neck plate. You can look online and you'll see that the general consensus is that these were made in India between 1989-1991. They are very good basses, like Made In Korea or Made In Japan Squires, and are far superior to modern day Squiers. Even on the plywood body Squire IIs, the necks were always really good, and this one has a great neck as well. It's in excellent condition and plays and sounds great. Classic P!
