Details

This bass was built about 3 years ago and is in excellent condition. Out of the many basses I have owned over the years - this beautiful 5 string 32” bass is by far the most unique and eye catching. The Cherry Burl wings and two-toned Kingwood fretboard are awesome and have garnered positive comments from everyone that sees it! While this bass looks amazing, it is really the outstanding tone and ease of play that make it a great bass. The high output dual Nordstrand Big Blade pickups produce a wide range of tones with huge volume. One amazing feature of this bass is that the B string is tight and tone wise is equal to or better than the B string on any of the 34” “high end” basses I have owned.

The body of this bass is longer than most medium scale instruments and when combined with the shape of the head - it's appearance is that of a 34" scale bass. In other words it looks like a full scale bass, but retains the ease of play of a medium scale instrument.

The bass will be in shipped in a well padded gig bag with lots of bubble wrap.

I can vouch for this being a fantastic bass.

Edit: For clarification, I was the original owner of this bass. FWIW, if someone ever needed or wanted any work done on the bass, I found the builder, Rick, to be a great guy to deal with.

This is a great bass. I sold it to Jim. Quality of construction, fit, and finish are superior. I strung the bass B - G and found the B to be very solid. Nice mid punch, no lack of the appropriate string tension, and no mud....whatsoever. Ergonomics are excellent, making the bass comfortable and easy to play. It is a great introduction to the 5 string world and experienced fiver players will also find it does the job.

This one will be a joy for medium scale players and players of standard scale basses who are exploring the world of medium scale.

Jim is a stand up guy. I enjoyed working with him on the deal we did, and we have stayed in touch since. Buyers can deal with Jim with confidence. Super guy....easy to work with.

I too have a medium scale 5 string Beardly and the B string is fantastic. You can use regular length strings with the thru body option on the bridge too.

Rick makes some amazing basses!

Someone will be happy with this.

I keep coming back to look at this. Do you happen to know the string spacing at the bridge? Maybe @rick0link could answer this for me.
