This is a gorgeous example of the unique early Dingwall Voodoo body shape from around 1995 prior to the loss of the original factory due to fire. The body is Northern Ash finished in a deep translucent blue. The neck is 7 piece laminated maple with Pau Ferro fretboard and Sperzel locking tuners. The multi scale ranges from 37” on the B to 34” on the G string. Weight is 9 lbs 12 oz and like every Dingwall I have owned it is very well balanced and comfortable to play. Bridge is Kahler with 18mm string spacing. Neck width at the nut measures 1.825”. I took this measurement perpendicular to the strings with the calipers at the nut on the G string side. The electronics are active 18 volt Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. Controls are Volume, 4 position rotary pickup selector (neck-both in series-both in parallel-bridge), bass, midrange and treble. The micro switch offers 2 different midpoints for the midrange control. Output jack is a locking Neutrik type and it has Dunlop strap lock buttons. Condition is excellent for a 26 year old bass with only very minor normal play wear. I’ve owned it for nearly half of its life and you can tell that all of its owners have taken exceptional care of it. The only issue is one that every one of the nine Dingwalls I’ve owned has. That is the rotary switch is noisey. Sheldon did a post on the Dingwall forum and if I recall correctly he said it is because both the ground and hot have to be switched to be able to get the series parallel pickup combinations. If you can live with that, want a unique bass with some history that is versatile and has probably the clearest best balanced B string on the planet, this could be the one for you.

It’s probably in the same condition as when you owned it. I’ve enjoyed playing it at home but never felt comfortable taking it to any of the venues I’ve played. Acquired more recent Dingwall 5’s for gigging.

Wow!! I miss my Voodoo fiver, it was trans-green with a stunningly smooth, glass-like finish! Good thing I don't have the room in my PayPal credit or I'd be really tempted. One day though...

I'm with you brother, mine is a keeper and she indulges me WAY more than she should. That is a fantastic bass, and I wish I could give it a home! I repeat, someone is going to be VERY blessed by this bass. I've had the honor of playing some older Dingwalls in addition to newer ones and they are ALL fantastic. But there is some real magic in the older ones and having a pre-fire Voodoo will one day be the equivalent to pre-CBS "others"......
