1967 Ampeg B18-N Serial:070597
$1300
As nice a B18 as I’ve ever seen. Purchased from son of original owner and kept in studio since. All original as far as I know with the exception of a recently replaced “death cap” and a grounded power cord. Was gone over by a technician 3 years ago and was in perfect health.
Complete with original vinyl cover. Sounds as terrific as you’d expect, a classic. Great with a 5er.
The only “damage” to the amp is a dent shown in the last picture, some wear on the top chrome strip visible in the first pic, some wear holes in the cover, some minor discolouration in the speaker cloth, and a couple of very small Tolex “chips.” All can be seen in the pictures.
Only selling as I have my original ’67 B15 and recently acquired a Fender Bassman of the same vintage.
Shipping: Cautiously willing to ship at purchaser’s expense. For my bass player friends in border states, I am willing to drive and meet up in Sarnia/Port Huron or Niagara Falls. You can now cross the border into Canada, I cannot cross to bring it to you.
Happy to provide more pics or details as required.
Famous Ampeg B Players: James Jamison, Duck Down, Paul John Jones, Rick Donka, Ron Carder, Jimi Hendrix:
And in case you missed it: The history of the legendary Ampeg B-15 | Guitar World
As I am the 2nd owner, I cannot guarantee that this amp was never used for playing Dixieland.
I can, however, guarantee it has NOT been used for Thrash Metal.
