I have a "Brand New" (ONLY USED ONCE) Ibanez workshop bass. This bass is "as new" in the box. I took it out only to try it, then got sick and did not return the bass in time to get a refund. It has sat in it's case now for about 45 days. I played one set at one gig only and decided it just was not for me. However, these basses are incredibly well made and sound really good. Neck is slim and fast and the bass is less than 7.5lbs.

So, my loss is your gain. I paid $1,149.99 plus tax. So this is at least a $150 + savings. It comes with everything it came with including the original box and owner's manual.

Here are some pics of the actual bass.

Thanks for looking
Syco....

PS.. Some folks are upgrading to Aguilar or Nordstrand P/ups. LMK if you are interested in this upgrade and I can help you source the parts at a great price.

Could you do me a favour?

Gently pluck notes on the G string from the 4th fret up to the octave. Let them ring until they die out, and see how they sustain.

I was trying to buy one of these locally, but it had a pretty drastic dead spot, just like you sometimes see on Fenders around the 5th fret on the G string. It was also different from any Fender I've played, in that it was wider, covering 3 full frets.
I'm curious to know if this a common thing on these basses, and also if you would be willing to ship cross-border (I'm in London, Ontario, Canada, about 2 hours northeast of Detroit).

Hello Steve, thanks for your inquiry. I just completed test as you instructed. I did not detect any "dead" spots. However, I will tell you that I have done some "set up" work to the bass. The action is lower and there is a bit more tension on the neck than when I got it. I am pretty sure it's due to the heavier gage strings I put on it. I use Kalium strings and Skip suggested going up in gage due to the shorter scale to regain string tension and tone. I believe it may have helped all around. I am pretty particular about the action on my basses and this one is exceptional. As far as shipping, I would be happy to ship north of the boarder. I am willing to give you $75 towards shipping, if that is agreeable to you. I take PayPal, Venmo and Zelle. Let me know how/if you would like to proceed. If you need more info, just let me know. Cheers. Rob/Syco.

That's good news indeed (re: the dead spot issue).

I have a vague idea that shipping costs and delivery times are up, but I am interested. Also, I like the silver finish- the other one I was looking at is the matte green, and I'm not big on having to worry about color-matching my outfits to instruments...

PM sent.
