Beautiful December 1971 4001
Pros-
Beautiful maple construction particularly the neck blank
finish is a beautiful vintage yellowed hue and is 100% intact, nothing through to the wood
Very minimal amount of nicks/dings/scratches for a 50yr old instrument
Binding is perfect, no cracking or damage
Frets are in fantastic shape
Wavy Grovers are in great shape
Electronics appear original and fully functional
Disclosures-
Bridge is obviously not original, it's a Stars Guitars circa 1970's, it has left a few small screw holes under the bridge but an original bridge would cover them all.
Truss rod nuts are tipped back a bit which is typical for 4001's of this vintage, someone shaved a little wood behind them to help access them, cosmetic only and covered by the truss rod cover, rods are able to be adjusted and are functional
Couple small areas of clear coat wear on the inlays on the fretboard
Non original modern Ric hardshell case
Plays great, sounds great, strung w DR Hi Beams
