Now normally I am a simple bent plate no fuss bridge kinda guy ,but this thing is way cool ..... Adjustable string spacing ...vintage high mass ... Removable spacer plate to lower the action ...
Very nice condition with original mounting screws

Sincerely sorry for my on-and-off. I realize it's only a matter of drilling some new holes (that would be hidden anyway under a std bridge) - just reluctant to mod the jb body even a tiny bit.

I do notice 2 recessed holes that line up perfectly with 2 of the fender 5 screw pattern ... Perhaps this is for a fender mount ...maybe Lo-e or someone more familiar with the Schallers can answer that better

I always just assumed those were an anomaly of the casting process. If there's another purpose for them it is shrouded in mystery to me.

Possibly for alignment when replacing a F-style bridge assembly..?

Yes that makes sense
I set it on top of a body the 2 small holes line up with the fender ones
And the intonation looks pretty darn close ... Makes sense to me
These German guys were really thinking when they designed this one
I may just have to put this on something and try it for myself

I don't have a fret rule but any tape measure will do - frt of nut to 12th fret should equal 12th fret to bridge (ish). I should still pull my damn finger out and buy it wth
