Hey everyone. I have made a couple of heavy purchases lately, so to heal my bank account, I am listing some of the crown jewels. This one is a vintage Zon Legacy Elite. I think this is the coolest bass I have ever owned. I love everything about it, and when I found it, I couldn't buy it fast enough.
Over almost forty years, this bass has developed a fair amount of natural relic-ing. Lots of nicks, scratches, chips, etc. The finish has degraded to a super unusual hammer tone like quality, which I think is awesome. The preamp solders were disintegrating, causing some random pops and drops, so I replaced it with an Aguilar OBP-1, which I think is a perfect match. I will include the original. The fretboard is in great condition though, and the playability is excellent.
To say that this bass sounds great is an understatement. There are two great quotes that describe it well. One from the original owner: "This thing sounds like a Bösendorfer on an empty soundstage." And the first time my guitar tech examined it: "God, this thing is just dripping with tone. Amazing."
$2900 shipped. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks!
