Early 2000's 34" scale Fernandes FRB in very clean shape overall. These are well crafted, higher end MIJ builds for Fernandes, with a nod to the CR Spectors. The bridge is one of several high quality variations they used during that time period, but it may be the only one that has a quick release tail for easy string changes. It adjusted very nicely during set up.
Great wood selection throughout: 3 piece quartersawn maple neck shaft, two piece swamp ash body. Nice and light at 8 1/4 pounds.
Minor pitting on tail of bridge, two tiny dings on edge of body near output jack (probably from being placed on a stand), light swirling on the body finish in a few places.
The bass has never been slapped, so the frets and pickup covers are all good.
Bench work recently completed includes: rewire blend pot for proper pickup orientation, clean out factory debris from truss rod nut cavity and service truss rod nut, remove old hardened black foam pickup spacer supports and replace with surgical tubing spacer supports.
The bass has active pickups as well as active electronics. Controls are: Master Volume, Blend, Bass, Treble. Effects pedals are very responsive to the signal it puts out.
Set up with fairly low action. Ships well packed in a new economy gig bag.
