I have the following double bass strings for sale, $50 a set, plus $5 shipping. If you want more than one set I would be happy to make a deal:

Thomastik Dominant Solo (SOLD)
Helicore Orchestra (SOLD)
Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Mittel (SOLD)
Pirastro Obligato - 2 sets (SOLD)

I also have a brand new, never out of the package, Spirocore A string LIGHT. They are about $75 new. I'll let this one go for $40, which is half-price plus a bit for shipping. (SOLD)

I also have a used Helicore HYBRID A and D. I will sell them for $10 each, or $15 for both, plus $5 shipping.

Finally, I have a used Obligato E and an A. I will sell them for $15 each, or $20 for both, plus $5 shipping. (SOLD)

I have not kept records on all the changes on the used strings, but each set was on an average of 1 year or so.

I'm very tempted by the Evah Pirazzis. I've been using a mixed set of Obligatos over Spirocore Mittels for about 8 years now. Can anyone advise me on the pros and cons of Evahs vs my mixed set? Also, am I right to think that the Evah weichs are somewhat more popular than the Mittels?

I'm also a little tempted by the full set of Obligatos....

Edit: dang, just saw that the Evahs are sold ;(

I also used Obligato D and G over Spiro E and A for a number of years. Works great. The Evahs, to my ear and hands, are similar to Obligatos in sound and feel. They aren't quite as "soft" under the fingers, IMO, but they are great strings. Some say the obligatos "roll" at times, but I've been playing them for 15 years and have never had one single issue with that. The Evahs would work great in that combination.

Hi there, to the extent you are willing to ship to Canada (I'll pay extra) and they are still available, I'd love to buy the Obligatos. Thanks!
