Details

The most versatile bass I've ever owned, and possibly the most versatile bass ever made.

Between the three way pickups selector and the individual parallel/single coil/series pickup switches, there are 27 unique tonal options available before even touching the blend or tone knobs.

Only putting it up on the block to acquire additional mics/outboard gear for the studio: open to trades for the right gear.

Comes with a very high quality Reunion Blues gig bag, similar to the Mono M80.

Alder/Maple/Ebony, around 9.25lbs, 19mm string spacing

Identical spec from Payson is currently $4240 shipped with a 6 month build time.

$3000 shipped, $2800 local.

Woods, weight, spacing at bridge ...

Just updated the post with the correct string spacing: I pulled the spec directly from Babicz website, but didn't realize that was based on the mono rails being mounted flush with each other.

Just measured it myself, and the actual string spacing a much more normal 19mm

Sp how do the 3-way pickup selector and the blend knob work together?

Excellent question.

The three way switch allows you to select either the front two pickups, all three pickups, or the front and rear pickups.

The blend control then allows you to control the blend between the selected pickups.

two fingers

Opinionated blowhard. But not mad about it.

Correct!

When all three pickups are selected, the blend allows you to shift toward just the front two pickups together and just the year two together,

The front two give you a Gibson Grabber kind of tone, and the rear two give you a MusicMan kind of tone

I use Payson strings exclusively: they sound fantastic, last a very long time, and his customer service is first class.

I’m a little late on this…the balance pot sweeps between the neck pu solo’d and the 3way blade switch connected to middle and bridge. The 3way blade switch switches between middle and bridge pu. If you want to solo the bridge pu for example, balance rolled towards bridge and the 3 way switched back to bridge pu (solo’d).

This was a V2 HyperCharger with a 1.75” body thickness. Our HyperCharger V3 has a 1.625” body thickness.

Is a wiring system like this compatible with an active preamp if I wanted to drop one in?

What happens when the three way switch is in the middle position then?... all three pickups? Then does the blend go between the neck and the other two?...
