I must have lost my marbles, cause I’m contemplating letting go of this fabulous Fender P bass that I swore I would never part with. It’s made in America and that’s not a relic job. This was my main player for a long time. It’s got loads of mojo that helps it sound better (dents, dings, scuffs, etc.) and it weighs in at 9.2 lbs on the bathroom scale. Asking $1200 shipped conus. Trades considered.

The front looks like an American Series bass (I have a 2003 American P bass)..The reverse of the bass does not

It’s a Highway 1 series as the post above helped jog my memory. I tried it and an American standard at the same time. I thought the American standard had better pickups, but I like everything else about the highway one better. So I bought both and swapped the electronics. The whole “grease bucket” electronics sounded inferior to me. I used the standard as a backup until I eventually sold it, but kept the highway 1 as my main player for about a decade.

the logo is legit for the bass from the first generation , with no possibility of it being counterfeit.

These basses had two iterations , and this one is from the first generation.

The easiest way to spot the second generation is the badass bridge and the 70s logo.

The nut-adjust truss rod was my first clue it was a Highway One. The first generation of Highway One basses had a nut-adjust truss rod and the second generation of Highway One basses had a heel-adjust truss rod if I'm not mistaken. All the Highway One stuff is great and I'll stop saying "nut-adjust" now. :D

I have no clue. I did that about 10 years ago, but I did find another one on tb for a parts bass build a couple of years ago. You just got to watch out for them. I might be willing to trade. Will tort really make it move faster? I thought that was kind of a joke around here.
