Up for sale is my totally custom Lakland DJ-4 in a stunning Candy-Apple Red with Matching Headstock and custom electronics.
I have been told by Lakland that this beautiful bass started out as a special run of 30 basses for Bass Central, and it originally had an all Maple neck with Black inlays.
I purchased that bass here on TB back in 2019 from a fellow TBer who had already begun a modification journey.

After acquiring the bass, I decided to continue down the upgrade path until I ended up with what we have here today.
My upgrades started with a new neck from Lakland with matching headstock, binding, rosewood board and MOP inlays, a custom pick-guard in Black Pearl, new Hipshot USA tuners and D-Tuner (Not the Ultralites), Nordstrand pickups with the 70's winding and an Audere 3-band Preamp with passive tone control.
Not only is this bass gorgeous, but it plays and sounds absolutely amazing.
So, why am I parting with it?
I am no longer gigging with any vehicle that requires a 4-string Jazz bass, and this beauty has just been hanging on a wall for the past 4-years.
I have the original all Maple neck that will ship with the bass, as well as the black pick-guard if the buyer is interested, and both will be INCLUDED with this bass at no charge!
The bass will ship in a generic gig-bag, and will be packed and shipped fully insured using Fed-Ex. I only ask the buyer to pay an additional $45 fee to cover the cost of the custom shipping box and supplies from Fed-Ex and handling.
Payment is to be made with PayPal, and I will provide the tracking number as soon as it is in hand.
