Need a 70s Acoustic dream rig? Here it is. Phenomenal, thunderous stack built in Van Nuys, CA.

Solid state 320 head puts out 365W into 2 ohms and is in near-mint condition. The two channels can be blended together for complex tonal variation. Each channel has a bright switch, volume and bass, mid and treble controls. Also: 5-band graphic EQ (70-2000 Hz) and a power boost circuit. Comes with OEM footswitch to control channel selection and graphic EQ on/off. The only known modification was the addition of a 3 prong cable for safety. Comes with custom-fit Tuki cover.

The 301 cabinet is a 1x18” folded horn enclosure that handles 300 W at 4 ohms. It is in mint condition and was refurbished and upgraded a few years ago by Don at Low Down Sound. This included new Duratex covering and reconing the stock Cerwin-Vega full-range driver using an original recone kit. The stock 301 is known as projecting tremendous bass far into the audience, but sounding muddy on stage. Don addressed this by adding a 4-driver midrange array and a bullet tweeter (with attenuator control). These added drivers run off a separate jack from the main 18”, so they are easily connected by running a second cable from the amp. The cab has recesses for the feet of the 320 head so it sits securely in position. Dimensions on the cab are: 48.5 x 24.5” x 18”, 135 lbs. It has a heavy-duty tilt-back arrangement to haul it around.

I prefer local pickup, but am willing to drive the rig within 2 hours of Monterey (e.g., the SF Bay Area or down to SLO). I can also deliver to a FedEx or UPS office, but the buyer would be responsible for the packaging and shipping from there. Sorry, no trade interests.

NB: An Acoustic 370 head was initially also offered, but has been sold.

Need a 70s Acoustic dream rig? Here it is. I am selling two USA-built Acoustic heads and the matching 1x18” cab, which was refurbished and upgraded by Don Oatman at Low Down Sound. Separately or together.

The 370 and 320 heads were the last two generations of high-power amps from Acoustic Control Corp., designed and built in Van Nuys, CA. They are both mint and work perfectly. The 320 was recently serviced, with all out-of-spec components switched out for high-quality replacements. The output on both is 365W into 2 ohms (specs actually state that they can go as low at 1.6 ohms). Both heads have 5-band graphic EQs (50-400 Hz on the 370 and 70-2000 Hz on the 320). The 370 is a simpler set-up with one channel, while the 320 has two channels that can be blended together for another world of tone. Each channel on both amps has master, treble/mid/bass boost/cut and a bright switch. The 320 also has a power boost circuit and comes with a footswitch for channel selection and graphic EQ on/off. I have covers for the heads – one horizontal and one vertical (these fit the 320 perfectly and are a little big on the 370).

Don at LDS completely refurbished the 301 cabinet, including new Duratex covering and a professional recone of the stock 18” Cerwin Vega. He also added a 4-driver midrange array and bullet tweeter with attenuator to address one of the main complaints about this cab – that it is difficult to hear notes clearly when standing immediately in front of it. The midrange drivers run on a separate jack from the main 18”, so they are connected simply by running a second speaker cable from the head. The cab has recesses for the feet of the heads so they sit securely in position. The width of the 301 cab and the 370 head is 24.5”. The 320 head is a little wider (26.5”), so it hangs over the edge of the cab by 1” on each side.

I will consider selling the cab or one head alone. Would prefer local pickup, but could meet from SF Bay area to SLO. No problem shipping a head alone at buyer cost. Sorry, no trade interests.

Thanks for allowing my memories of my times using the 370 with two 301 cabs to flow back into my head. Those were heady days for us bassists as those rigs were/are killer. I never needed PA support with that rig. I did however need back support. LOL

For those lusting after this SVT-sized rig but worried about shipping, I've had good recent experiences with UShip. I just sold a slightly larger Sunn 2000S rig. The UShip charge was $300 to safely transport (in 24 hours) from Monterey to Portland, about 730 miles. I would expect a similar or lower price to LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, SLC and all points in between. This would have to be arranged at the buyer's end, but I'd be happy to walk you through it.
