For your consideration: a 2021 FBass BN4 Deluxe.
This is a pristine example of FBass craftsmanship that would cost around $7700 USD and come with a 16 to 18 month wait to purchase new. This bass is stellar, and I would not part with it if I had more opportunities to play it. I’m the first and only owner. The only reason I'm considering letting this one go is that I have a BN5 Deluxe in the pipeline, and I'm more likely to put a 5 string to work consistently.
The Deluxe pickups are phenomenal and versatile. Each can independently be set to series, parallel or single coil mode with the flip of a toggle switch. There are some great combinations. I love the punchy character that comes out with the bridge set to series and the neck set to single coil mode. The famous FBass preamp pairs exceptionally well with these pickups (unsurprisingly).
