Details

Some player wear on this bass, absolute pleasure to play. Goes from subtle to very modern with 18v Aguilar. Had to replace pickups because front pickup inexplicably went out during gig. I replaced with Seymour Duncan’s from a Mike Lull. The Duncan’s are a great match with the Aguilar. When I put original pickups on multimeter, everything seemed fine so I’m not sure what problem was. I’ll include original pickups as well.

Thanks for the interest. To be honest I don't know a lot about the Dragonfly basses. Let me do some research and I will let you know, your playing of it does sound good

I went to Low End bass shop this weekend and played nearly every bass I was remotely interested in.

There was one Sadowsky I really liked and some Low End basses I had never played before that I really, really liked.

Of all the other basses - I really liked the Dragonfly more. I also really liked the B String on the Dragonfly compared to most of the other 5 strings so with that said, I’m going to pull the Dragonfly off the market.

Different strokes for different folks but if you get a chance to play one of these Dragonfly basses, I highly recommend it!

I am glad you made a decision you are happy with. I own a LowEnd Pman bass. I like
But i favor Sadowsky 5string more. That said, I am impressed with the Dragonfly based on the video I have seen. Would love to play one.
Is the Aguilar preamp in yours the original one?

He had a Pman bass in the shop. I was surprised I liked it, I'm not usually into the Humbucker combo or any combination with a P Pickup but the way Brian positioned them on the Pman made that a killer bass.

Yes, this Dragonfly has the original OBP-3 that was installed. I think Dragonfly used Aguilar Preamps until they made their own. The Dragonfly preamp is 9 volt with more subtle bass/treble frequencies.

Ok, i read where they made their own preamp.
Didn't know if you swapped out.
When you played the Pman did you notice a big difference in tone when the coil switch by bridge was moved to different positions

Yeah, the coil switch by the bridge on the one I played basically *to my memory* cut out the mid band so it instantly gave it a more scooped sound. It was a noticeable difference.

Ok. Mine doesn't make a noticeable difference. Even when i select just MM pickup. Niether in the two or 3 band mode. Mine might have a problem.

The dragonfly preamp is freaking phenomenal. Absolute my favorite. Puts my nordstrands to shame.
