A rare early model of the legendary Lakland that is truly a killer player! It's well worn with pings and scuff marks for good reason. Serial number 85 from the first year of production.
It's got a Jazz-like neck that plays like butter. The tone is amazing as well, there are numerous sweet spots to dial in between the pickup selection and series/parallel switch.
The top-mounted input jack was a feature on these early models before being moved to the side. The faded spot on the back of the head stock appears to be where a drop-D tuner may have been for a while. I've taken close-ups of the wear marks, including a slight stress fracture at the ninth fret on top of the neck. You can't feel it under your thumb so it's stable and cosmetic only. Original volume knob and pot was replaced at some point.
Alder body with 4A quilted maple top
Bartolini 9W4J pickups and 3-band preamp with series/parallel switching
22 fret Rosewood neck with quilted maple inlays
Hipshot tuners
Original string-thru-body bridge
Weight is about 8 1/2 pounds
Dunlop strap buttons
Hard case is a Lakland, but does not appear to be the original.
Shipping only in the CONUSA.
Will potentially trade for a similar value 5 or 6: Warwick Streamer, Roscoe, Dingwall, Low End, etc.
