Details

Up for sale is this fantastic Maruszczyk 6 string headless bass. I purchased this bass new in August of 2023 and it has barely been played. I'm only selling because I've realized that I'm just a one bass guy and this bass is simply, not being played.

The bass has less than one hour of play time. Additionally, the bass has never left my smoke free home. This is a wonderful instrument and deserves to be played.

Body is walnut. Top is ash. Neck is maple. Fingerboard is ebony.
String spacing is 16mm at the bridge.
Scale length is 34 inches.
24 frets
Strung with a new set of Fodera stainless lights.(28, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120)
Original gigbag and Maruszczyk strap included.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions. Thanks for looking.

Hi. Weight on bathroom scale is 9.8 pounds. Width at the nut is 2 and 1/8 inches. Width at the 24th fret is 3 and 1/4 inches. And if it helps, width at the 12th fret is 2 and 7/8th inches.
Thanks for asking. Feel free to let me know if I can provide any other info.

Wow, that’s a beautiful bass. That would be really tempting if that were a five string, especially since you’re local!

Well, I guess you could use the B string as a great thumb rest!!! In all seriousness, let me know if you'd like to check her out.

Passive electronics. Small frets. Honestly, I don’t know what type of metal wire is used for the frets.

When commissioning the build, I asked for small frets but I didn’t specify what type of fret wire. I assume he used what is standard in bass construction.

Thanks.

Hi. That’s an interesting question. When I read that you were asking about the ergonomics, my first thought was to describe how the bass balances. To that point the balance is perfect, as you would expect from a well constructed headless. With regard to answering your actual question, I had to take the bass out and play it to answer you clearly. And In fact, it does seem slightly more comfortable reaching and playing on the first fret, then it is on some other six strings I’ve played. I hope that answers the question?

As the bass is suddenly getting lots of attention, and there seem to be a number of people quite interested, I’ve decided to put it back up for sale.

Thanks Rocko. I definitely agree. I have a sense that it will be in a new home pretty soon.

I’ve never shipped to Canada. Are there any challenges to shipping from US to Canada? If not, and if the buyer was willing to pay all shipping and associated fees, I don’t see why not.
