Got this locally, from my buddy and fellow TBer Ed. Since I've had this, it has only had maybe an hour playing time here in my home. Here is Ed's description from when I bought it. The description is accurate:
Selling my 1983 G&L L-2000 with transparent red on ash body, maple neck and fretboard, original HSC (bonus!). Produced in early 1983 with a bi-cut neck (NO SKI RAMP) and a premium transparent red finish over Ash body, she has clarity and sustain for days. Downsizing my 34" scale basses due to shoulder injury, switching to short scale is the only reason I am willing to sell her. A few body dings, no buckle rash, headstock clean, neck clean front and back, electronics have been Deoxed and the truss rod functions as it should. No finish cracks in the neck pocket.
Freshly set up by my tech with DR Hi-Beam strings and low action and the frets have been polished. Dead stock right down to the strap buttons.
Please see pics of the condition, I have tried to capture every angle. It even comes with the original brown lined G&L hardcase, a rare beast in itself! New locking latches with keys directly from G&G have been installed. Weight on the bass is 10.15 lbs.
