I've thoroughly relished my time with this bass. Having owned several Fender Deluxe models over the years, I'd liken this one to a superior version of the Fender Deluxe V, boasting a stunning Zebrawood finish not found on standard Fender Deluxe basses. The feel is reminiscent of a Fender Deluxe, yet the pickups and preamp surpass expectations. Personally, I've found Fender Deluxe preamps to be somewhat lacking in their boost, but this bass offers a notably enhanced performance in that regard.
This 2007 Fujigen Japan Custom Shop EDR 5-String bass guitar is Used but in Excellent Condition; just some tiny finish nicks / blems on the back and some wear / tarnishing on the hardware. The back of the neck is perfect, the fingerboard has been cleaned / oiled and the frets are in excellent condition (no string wear, no grooves or flat spots). The bass was setup with new nickel steel 45-130 strings with very low action and proper intonation (truss rod and saddle screws all turn smoothly). The original Fujigen hard case, sticker and adjustment wrenches will be included.
The bass was made for a Japanese Fujigen artist, who gifted it to a fellow touring musician from the US. The band logo on the bass was painted on by the factory (not a decal). As the bass is satin finished, you can probably sand it off if you desire. If anyone can tell me what the Kanji says, I'd appreciate it!
