This is an all original Bossa OB5 in very good condition.
It has a quilt maple top over ash body with maple neck and fingerboard. Headstock is capped with flamed maple. Pickups are covered with matching quilt maple and ash casings.
• 3 Band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble)
• Switch for standard mode and split coil mode
• Pickup pan
• Volume knob
When the switch is in split coil mode, the pickup pan knob becomes the coil tap control allowing you to run both pickups with either just the outer coils or just the inner coils.
With the electronics and coil tapping options this bass can go from a killer jazz bass style to modern humbucker tone and virtually anywhere in between. Inside is a control for each pickup output and a mid frequency output.
There are some indentations on the back of the neck and small cracks in the gloss down by the output jack. See pictures. Otherwise just a little player wear here and there since it is a used bass. Considering its age it is in nice condition. I take care of my instruments. The pickguard shows signs of wear.
These Bossa's sound killer and are becoming highly desirable and rare. This is a real nice specimen. Balance is superb and it plays with low action up and down the fingerboard.
The video below is the actual bass you are looking at. The pickguard seen in the video will ship with the bass and is removable (affixed with double sided tape). I prefer the bass without the pickguard.
Will ship in a generic gig bag for protection. Strung with a new set of DR High Beams.
I’m reluctantly selling because I have costly expense coming up and need some cash. Feel free to ask any questions.
$1,400 and we'll figure out shipping.
