This is an awesome bass that I just acquired, and I'm not entirely sure I want to sell it. Because I'm me, I bought an expensive Gator hard-shell case for it (with LEDs!), upgraded the pickguard to black abalone material, and put on a set of brand new Fender stainless steel flats (45-100.) LOOK AT THAT ASH GRAIN!
The American Deluxe Dimension is active only. The control knobs, from closest to neck to closest to bridge: volume, treble, mid, bass. And the switching, in that same order = full neck, inner coils, both pickups full, outer coils, full bridge. It's basically the exact same controls as a USA EBMM Stingray HH (double pickup) model. I believe you COULD swap out the preamp if you wanted and include an active/passive option - BUT I see no reason to mess with it, honestly. I just put two brand new 9V batteries in it so the 18V preamp should last you hundreds of hours (I think) of playing time.
Why sell? What I really want is a G&L L-2000 or similar (ash preferred.) I've had a dozen of them but don't have one currently. I love my USA G&L M2000 and it would be sweet to have a USA L2000 to go with it. If you have something else to trade, try me. My 19-year-old totaled her car yesterday (everyone's ok except her car) so that's going to end up being a huge pain in the butt but I'll deal with that once the claim is settled. So I probably should save my cash, but I'll consider trades too. I am generally a G&L, Fender, EBMM kinda guy but I love basses of all varieties, as you can see from my active 20 years on Talkbass!
New pictures added after a setup and cleaning. Condition is excellent and the satin compound radius neck feels amazing. This bass is basically a P, a J, and a Stingray all in one. While it does not sound exactly like any of those, it can come pretty close to all. And the spoke wheel truss rod = chef's kiss (I'm pointing to it in one of the pictures.)
9.3 lbs give or take. Dunlop strap ends securely installed so pop your strap right on. Amazing condition overall save for one small ding in the clear coat I found, shown in the sixth picture. Fresh setup, new strings, plays beautifully. Fingerboard is extremely clean and those American Fender rolled edges feel superb. Also, the LED Gator case is rad!
Price drop to 1149 shipped - (or I will do $1075 shipped if you want a gig bag instead of the Gator hard case) - lower 48 - this price reflects what I have into it (bass + case + pickguard + strings.) Will hear reasonable offers. Still not entirely sure I want to sell or trade, but will listen to anything you have to offer.
