For sale Drake/ Ibanez medium scale 5

One of the coolest basses around. Saving for a custom Drake is always recommended though - I have two. They're the best basses around IMHO.

Have owned, can confirm: huge bang for bucks! The neck is beautiful in person and feels spectacular. Very light too IIRC.

What's the scale length on this? What's the string spacing at the bridge? Are the pickups the original Ibanez pickups? Thanks so much

32” scale. 16.5 mm, nordstrand pickups

“Not sure what the spacing is but I used a Schaller 2000-5 bridge which has possible spacing from 15.5mm to 20mm and I imaging we landed on 16.5mm as the saddles were not all tight up against one another. Looks like one could go a touch wider on spacing in the photos. Was a fun little bass. i think I sprayed some finish on the body as well. It was pretty rough when I received it. Probably stainless steel frets. I use use the smaller wire as standard.”

I have the bass now. It’s had some time at Wicked on Broadway, as well as on different more pop gigs around town. It has made me a believer in a medium scale bass with a low B. It definitely needs some alterations to get it fully up to speed, but it’s a really impressive bass. At some point I’ll have a 32” scale 6 made, and when that happens this will most likely be up for sale. Will let you know if that happens. This little Frankenstein bass has been a pleasure to play.

Andrew has built me two basses now. A 5 string medium scale and a six string medum scale. They are both amazing!

Hey all! Just dropping in to mention that I'll be selling this beauty. I just had a bunch of work done to the bass. It needed a string tree that would pull the D string down, the G string was too close to the edge of the board so the nut was filed every so slightly to help with that, I had two new strap buttons added to the back so the bass finally balances correctly on a strap, and you can lean it on the floor without the bass touching, I had a very custom Nordstrand BigRig put into the bridge which required a new route, and makes the volume even with the P pickup (hardwired in series), and it got a full setup. I first have to sort out the P pickup because it seems one side got demagnetized while it was in the shop...but once that's sorted out I'll put it up for sale. I'm still knocked out by this little monster. I was planning on using it for more creative work, but I have those bases (and basses) covered. I need a longer scale 5 for general work in NYC. I hope to have the pickup sorted this week so I'll put the ad up. The price will reflect what I paid and all of the work I had done.
