This bass has some scratches on the pick guard and normal player wear, nothing bad at all. The worst spot is by the Preamp cover on the back (see pic). The maple neck is smooth and has some unique figuring. Rosewood board is nicely striped.

These are outstanding basses! Mine is quite wonderful, both to play and in sound. One singer I work with thinks it sounds like a Rickenbacker, but that’s just part of its range. Best of luck with the sale!

I’m also in Michigan and interested. Can you tell me what it weighs?

Very cool bass, @RHA III.
Do these not have a truss rod adjustment notch? I'm mystified by that since that is such a hallmark of Yamaha basses.

Truss rod adjustment is located at the heel and no notch in the pick guard. I have not removed it to see if there is a notch in the body.

I can't believe this is still here!!! People, this is a top notch active jazz bass with 70's spacing and supreme playability and tone.

If this bass would make me play like Jeff Andrews, I'd swoop it up in a minute. I'm afraid that isn't how it works though. Thanks for posting the Jeff Andrews solo video. I once owned a BB1500A, and like a fool I let it go because the midrange tweaking options were too much for me. But it was a great sounding, great playing bass with an awfully comfortable neck. Good luck with the sale.

Just got one.. I'm impressed so far.. dead quiet...and the 3 band eq is more usable compared to my TRB1005J
