Quilt maple top, highly figured, dark stain, oil finish
Alder body, tort cover on rear control cavity
One-piece maple neck, 1.5” nut width, D profile, oil finish
Ebony fretboard

Top-load bridge
Schaller tuners
Hipshot D tuner

Aero Type 1 single coil pickups
V/B/T
knurled chrome knobs

8 lbs 3 oz, extremely well balanced and feels light

I hear ya, I've had my eyes on ABasses since the '90s when I saw Reggie Scanlan of the Radiators, and Darryl Jones (at a small club through his monstrous Meyer Sound rig) rocking ABasses. I check TB classifieds pretty much every night before going to bed and at morning coffee, but didn't for a few days due to the Labor Day weekend...dangit!

If anyone ever has one to sell please message me!

I talk to Albey pretty regularly. He's going to move two of his personal basses he's had for 20 years. His "honey" bass and a 3 tone sunburst...

Is he building at all any more? True story...the reason the DJ basses have Aeros is because I introduced Larry to Dan. The pickups were originally called MP-181...I'M the MP! He changed it to "Type 1" years later. Still the pickups he is known for. A bit of useless vintage trivia...

the kind of trivia that makes TalkBass so great! Love this story.

He built a few a year or two ago but I think it's just if he feels like it/when he wants to. I think he's mainly playing upright and fretless. I'm seriously considering picking up his personal burst.
