Up for sale is one of my favorite parts builds I've ever done. Ordinarily I would not sell a parts bass whole. But this one is so perfect as-is, I find it very difficulty to part it back out. I built this bass with some premium parts. Here's what it consists of:
* Warmoth alder body with custom sparkle blue finish by Marty Bell (google him if you're not familiar)
* Fender Japan 90s PB-70 maple neck with rosewood fretboard (1.625" nut, 7.25 radius, shallow C profile)
* EMG GZR Geezer Butler Signature split coil pickup with wireless harness
* Babicz FCH-4 Bridge
* Fender Pure Vintage 70s tuners
* Elixir Nickel Plated Steel NANOWEB coated (I think they are 45-105 set)
The complete bass weighs approximately 9.5 lbs. It's very comfortable and has no deck dive. I'll be honest, I paid $500 for the custom finish alone, not including what I paid for the body itself. It's a beautiful finish which is hard to capture with my cell phone camera. I originally built this to be a Steve Harris clone (as seen in my profile pic), but changed up shortly after. The neck is awesome and comfy with a bit of flame on the back. It has a few dings and scratches as one might expect of 25+ year old neck. It's perfectly straight and the truss rod works as it should. The frets are level and there is no buzzing with nice low action.
I will include an unbranded hard shell case. It's nothing special, but will certainly protect the bass in shipping.
I love this bass and it's certainly not easy to let it go. I've been struggling to post it for a couple weeks now. But I'm a DOD contractor who just went through a 6 week furlough (no back pay for contractors) and the holidays are coming up. So I gotta make some difficult decisions. I'm posting this at what I feel is a fair price and will give a couple weeks to see if someone would like it as-is. I'm pretty firm on the price as a built bass. If interest seems low after a couple of weeks, I may decide to part it out. I would certainly prefer to see it go to someone as-is though. I'm sure the buyer will love this one as much as I do.
