The Paint Job

Forget that boring 3-color sunburst it used to be. In 2022, I stripped this thing down to the bare wood and gave it the full custom treatment. This is a pro-sprayed, large-flake candy finish that looks like it's going 200 MPH even when it's on the stand. It’s paired with a carbon fiber pickguard and abalone knobs to match the abalone dot inlays in the neck ,for a look that's pure, uncut "one-of-a-kind." Attention to detail is evident... everywhere in this custom build.

The Engine (It's Supercharged)

The stock "engine" was a joke. The original Fender preamp was all midrange, all the time. It was like having a 4-cylinder with a governor on it. It was ridiculous.

So, I ripped it out and did a full engine swap.

The Supercharger: We dropped in a Bartolini HR-4.6AP/918 3-band preamp. This is the heart of the beast. It has an active/passive switch, so you can go from "cruise night" to "drag strip" with one pull.

The Pistons: The stock split-coil was replaced with a Steve Harris signature Quarter Pound. This isn't a "P on steroids"—this is a P-bass that is the steroids. It's pure, articulate punch. It will part your hair.

The Nitro Tank: We kept the dual-stacked jazz bridge pickup (wired in series) for that extra searing bite.

This bass doesn't just "cut through the mix." It takes the mix, throws it in the trunk, and does donuts in the parking lot.

Performance & Handling

A hot rod isn't just a big engine. The entire chassis has been upgraded with all-black Hipshot performance hardware:
