This Sadowsky was built in the Tokyo shop in 2017. This is one of the later ones with the upgrades such as the thicker headstock and graphite strips in the neck as well as the updated string retainers. I have it listed as an RS5, which technically means 'Rosewood' (actually Morado), Standard body (no pickguard with rear mounted controls) and 5 strings. Some of these later ones deviated from the norm in that the 'R' versions were normally paired with an alder body and the 'M' (maple fingerboard) versions were paired with an ash body. Although this bass has the Morado fingerboard, the body is clearly ash. I actually had a Modern 5 from the Tokyo shop around this vintage that was also Morado/Ash and I've seen others as well.
The bass is in great shape. If you look closely you can see the faint lines that appear on the top under the strings from normal play wear. There are a couple of minor flaws in the finish on the top edge near the arm contour and a couple of marks at the end of the headstock. (See photos) It comes with the lightweight Sadowsky case, which is in overall good shape but has some bumps and bruises from doing its job protecting this bass. The zipper is starting to pull away from the fabric in one area, but case closes just fine.
This Sadowsky plays great, sounds great, and the icing on the cake is the weight. This bass weighs just under 8 pounds, 3 ounces.
If you have any questions, please reach out as I'm happy to answer them. Also ask if you need additional photos. It's your money and you need to be comfortable with your purchase.
Not looking for trades as I'm overloaded with gear and need to make room.
