90s Korean reissue in commie red. Mods are:
1) replaced tuners with Grovers.
2) wired lipstick pickups in series with one stacked Danelectro volume/tone.
3) added oak veneer to original pickguard, 2 coats of shellac and finishing wax applied.
4) full shim in neck heel to correct bridge height.
5) moved the strap buttons ( strap lock?)for better balance on a strap.
It has light guage D’Addario rounds and plays easily and in tune ( given the rosewood saddle). The series wiring scheme increases the output. The sound is low mid and thumpy, especially with the tone rolled down. Plenty of bite with the tone rolled up, great with a pick.The volume pot does not roll off completely, I don’t know why this is the case.
I can send 2 additional Dano stacked pots if you’re interested. Trades for cheap guitars of some sort, I’m open minded.
