1984 Gibson Explorer, everything looks original, everything functions, plays well

The only issues are the finish is rough as shown, and there was a headstock break/repair done at some time, it's solid.

I privately own and operate a local musical instument repair shop.
Just an opinion, I don't believe that is a repaired headstock break. Take a look at the headstock of my '87 Q-80, a hockey-stick variant of that... note the joint on mine right above the logo. I think what happens is the two pieces of wood expand and contract over time and a crack appears in the paint. It is completely stable.
