LOL! To be honest, that does look very appealing, but then I'd just have to go and find the matching 1x15 (or 1x18?). :D

If I can clear any more gear out of my basement, I'd love to have it, but man, I am trying to be "good" and trim things down a bit. :help:

I remember the TE ad for this cabinet - this is the one that Mark King used like 8 of 'em at Hammersmith for like 9 shows in a row (sorry about not remembering specifics - it was 15 years ago!); when I worked for a TE dealer, this was the cab I REALLY wanted, but could never afford; now that I'm paying two house payments, I STILL can't get it!

CRAP!:crying:

Total 8 Ohm, individual drivers are 16 ohm

Well since it is an 8 ohm cab the drivers would have to be 32 ohm right? Case in point a Ampeg 8x10(e) has eight 10's in it and it is a 4 ohm load meaning it has to have eight 32 ohm speakers right? :hiding:

Peace,

Peace,

Hi,
the two 10" drivers are 16 Ohm each, they are in parallel, so they give you 8 Ohm. The two midrange speakers are added though a high pass crossover, so at low frequencies they "don't count". At higher frequencies loudspeaker impedance is much higher than the 8 Ohm on the specs anyway, so its not a problem to add the two 5" drivers.

I don't know what impedance the Ampeg are using, but they may use 8 Ohm drivers - they may have 4 pairs of two 8 Ohm in series, and wire all pairs in parallel = 4 Ohm.

This cab sold recently on e-bay for $350 (in the UK), so $300 is a really good price.

I paid 1350 DM in Germany in 1990, at 1.55 or so that makes about $870.

Shipping should be less than $50 to mostly anywhere in the US.
