Well it pains me to do this, but with three new basses coming and business being slow I need to generate funds for the the new aquisitions. Up for sale is an awesome MTD 535 #773 Avadore body with a flamed redwood top, wenge neck & board. No trades. $2500 + shipping CONUS

Can you tell me what the avadore body brings to the equation as opposed to poplar or ash (two other popular wenge/wenge partners on Mike's basses)?

Avadore basses have a full, useable bottom end with a sweet midrange and a very sweet treble, it has a unique growl and presence with tremendous cut and punch. My poplar (Tulipwood) 635/24 also does cut and punch extremely well and has a real nice edge to the notes. My ash 635/24 has an ash neck and maple board makes a great slap bass and can be extremely traditional sounding while offering great range and versatility. This is just IMHO.
