Details

This is a 1996 Spector BOB Deluxe 4. Spector only made 150 of these BOB models.

They had a 4 & 5 string BOB regular and a 4 & 5 string BOB Deluxe. The Deluxe got the 3 band preamp and the figured top wood. It stands to reason that there was only 35 or so of each model made. This one is #22 and is signed by Stuart Spector on the back of the headstock.

The finish is Black Cherry Burst over a flame maple top. Pickups and preamp are EMG. The layout is vol, blend, stacked treb/bass, stacked mid/mid boost. Pau Ferro fingerboard with black hardware.

By the way BOB stands for "Bolt On Bass" pretty imaginative, yes?
The bass is in very nice shape.

Yes, they were all US made back before it was fashionable to have instruments made overseas. These are very special basses that were hand crafted by Stuart himself!

Years ago, I used to own this bass. Only got rid of it because I moved to five strings. I bought it from a fellow who worked at Bass Player magazine, received it for review, and wanted to keep it.

[Edit: Just checked my pictures with the serial number...definitely my former bass. It's a good one!]

Thanks very much for your input and info. I agree that this is a VERY nice instrument. Like yourself I mostly play 5 string these days so it's a waste to have this sitting in a case in my closet.
