OK this is an original Yamaha BB-1200S that was first sold in the US in 1982. There were three models initially offered, the BB-2000, BB-1200S and BB-400. The BB-1200S was the only one with active electronics and a three band EQ in addition to an active/passive switch.
I have been a fan of these basses since I bought my first one back in 1982. I am not the original owner of this one but I have to say it's in the best shape of any of them that I have seen over the years.
Beautiful neck through construction with perfect frets and a fully functional truss rod. This one has a few minor dings but considering it is over 25 years old it's in really excellent condition.
This model originally sold for $495.00 in 1982 (a lot of money back then). Lee Sklar played one with James Taylor and George Hawkins used one with Kenny Loggins.
This bass delivers the P-Bass sound better than most and it's playability is second to none. They don't make them like this any more and if they did, they would cost a whole lot more.
Asking $650.00 shipped in the continental US including the original black vintage style Yamaha hard shell case.
