I have a ver. 1 Strobostomp, about 3 years old, which is in great shape except in the last year it started making extraneous noises like hiss or electronic glitchy sounds. At first it was just randomly once a month or so and then the sounds would go away, but in the last week it's been making those noises more often than not. I looked into having it repaired, but Peterson charges a minimum of $60 plus shipping both ways, so maybe $80 or more to repair; so I just got a new Korg DT-10 for $89 instead.
The tuning functions and LCD screen of this unit are still 100% perfect, no problems. so if you have an amp/preamp/switcher with a separate "tuner out" jack, you can use this Strobo with no problems. It will tune you up perfectly as long as you keep it out of the signal path.
