Crazy cool bass, really interesting model I picked up on here a few months ago. I'm selling off a lot of my gear for various reasons and here's one nice piece that I'm going to have to part with. This is a semi-fretless 7 frets and fretless after that. VERY cool concept and maybe the perfect match for some of you guys. This has an ULTRA ULTRA light beautiful ash body and overall is just really light and woody sounding. Bartonlini pickups and hipshot bridge. Some of the frets have some rough edges, could use some detail work but at this price its a steal of a deal. $825 shipped. PRICE DROP

I had a chance to try this bass in a shop in NYC maybe a year ago, and it's a fantastic instrument. In fact, the only thing that stopped me from buying it (aside from the fact that I have WAY too many basses already) is that I'm not a 5-string player at all, only 4's an 6's.

The seller's description is spot on -- very light, easy to play, and a beautiful woody tone. MPG has dimensions of their basses on the site. Unless this was a special order, it should be 19mm between strings at the bridge.

I am in no way affiliated with the seller (though I HAVE owned an MPG before) I just happened to see this ad and thought I'd offer an outside opinion. Also, FWIW, this asking price is quite a bit less than it was selling in the store for years ago IIRC.

Can U get a marcus-type of slap and pop tone from this bass?

Is the fretless fingerboard level/same height with the fretted fingerboard? Or is it slightly raised, where the fretless starts?

I'm trying to figure out if it mwahs well (which in my experience requires low action).

If it does slap and mwahs well, this would be a perfect bass.:hyper:
