MIM Fretless Neck (converted) - I SWEAR I didn't do this!!!

I got this as an advertised "fretless", not realizing that it was a home defret job. So I pulled the neck off, darkened all of the putty lines, stained it with walnut stain and treated it with tung oil. (I was going to dye it black with Fiebings, but I never got around to it!) No issues, good truss rod, very straight.

I removed the original string tree and replaced it with the "bar" type string tree (hence the extra screw holes).

This was a pretty bad hack job, I won't lie (I didn't notice when I bought it as I was so excited to get me a fretless! ) ! But the neck is perfectly usable and there are no issues other than the cosmetic stuff...

I think it would be a good spare neck, good for somebody who wants to try fretless out for cheap, or a good project if you're thinking of trying an epoxy job!

$50.00 + shipping. Paypal preferred.

Thanx!!!

Hmm. I wonder if it's worth doing a re-fret on lol. I might be interested.

Well, I suppose you could try, :D but whoever did this defret was either lazy, didn't care, or didn't know what they were doing...

It works fine as a fretless, but I don't think a refret job would be an option. Like I said, with a coat of Fiebing's, you might not be able to see the putty as much. I've used this live and from far away you can't see the lines at all.

Just wanna be honest here! But hey, for 50 bucks it might be worth a try!!! :)

Thanx!!!

Could you send me some close up shots of the damage to the fret slots? I might be able to fix it.

Here are some pix of the "fretlines"... Like I said, I don't figure they're fixable, but then again, I'm not insane... :D

I warned ya...

BTW, I SO cannot take pictures - if y'all have any pointers for me, shoot 'em up in this thread, wouldja? :)

Thanx!!!

Well it ain't pretty, but I think with a wide fret I can do it. I'll take it. If I can't refret it, I'll epoxy it and use it that way.

PM me with payment instructions.

Nope, I've still got it...

An I s'pose it's back up for grabs unless Lowendgenerator still wants it... ?

Hit me up anyway! He was having some Paypal issues and told me to sell it to anyone else who was interested.

Any takers? :hyper: This bad boy is boxed up and ready to ship to the next soul brave enough to dare...

It's tempting to take a small saw, and get the putty out and insert some maple and radius it... Let me ponder on it a bit, cause I'm no luthier either... :)
