No I haven't A/B'd it with a normal SVT, but I have A/B'd it with their VR model that I recently sold. The Sadowsky was much more of a transparent amp, offered more articulation, response, and the vol/gain + master vol on the SA200 offers more overdrive without having to actually drive the amp as hard.

an SVT sounds like an SVT. the sa200 sounds like the most articulate tube amp ever. big difference. and yet, the sa200 does get terrificly growly w/ the fat switch engaged. and with a powerful enough onboard preamp, you can get a thick medium overdrive, too.

also, you wont break your back carrying the sa200, and yet, you'll have more than enough tube power for most moderately loud groups.

the SVT is definitely louder, but again, if you want a hifi, articulate amp, the sa200 is it. if you want an SVT, get an SVT. frankly, the sa200 is one of the best amps i've ever owned. period.

Dang! wouldn't you know that I would miss this one. I played through one at the A.B.G. once and always wished I had bought it. Best amp I have ever heard. Oh well, I'll just have to stick with my DB 750.
