I know I will probably regret this, but I need to thin the herd and it is not getting played. Most of you know what this is, but for those who may not...

2002 USA Peavey Cirrus Tiger Eye - Flagship of the Cirrus line. Beautiful exotic woods, 'studio quiet' active electronics, and neck-through body design.

• 35 inch scale
• Highly figured Tiger Eye top & matching headstock
• Neck-through-body
• 2 VFL active pickups
• Active (18 volt) 3-band EQ with +/- 10 dB boost/cut & variable mid sweep
• Gold hardware
• Milled ABM multi-adjustable bridge
• 24 Fret
• Ebony fretboard
• Cirrus emblem inlay at 12th fret
• Graphite reinforced neck with dual expanding truss rod
• Quilt overlay headstock
• Hipshot hardware
• Hard-shell case included

I’ve been playing bass for nearly 40 years and this is the finest quality bass I have owned. It is feels light and my bathroom scale shows it to be around 9 to 9.5 pounds. Sadly, I just can not get accustomed to the 35 inch scale so it sits in the case.

Bass is in excellent condition showing only the most minor signs of use. There is some light surface scratching above the neck PU, and one very slight indent near the horn that is the size of ball point pen tip and won't even photograph. They are hard to see even when looking for them. From 3 inches away it looks mint. I’ve seen new instruments in music stores with far more wear. Frets are fine and there is no buckle rash on the back. The ebony fretboard feels superb and the back of the neck is satin smooth with Birdseye figuring. I just had the electronics cleaned by local dealer which eliminated a slight scratchiness of the volume control.

The included hard-shell case shows some wear with scratches, missing metal “foot” and plastic is cracked around one of the latches, but it still latches correctly. Inside of case is mint.

I will be glad to answer any additional questions you have about the bass. I hope someone who will take care of it buys it and plays it. It is a fine instrument.

Yes, and my camera does not do it justice. ;)

I will be sad to see it go. But truth is due to the 35-inch scale I rarely play it. :crying:

I dont normally jump in on the nice bass bump kinda posts, but.......I have to tell you how much I dig my cirrus 6. After watching Dave Hungate's video on the cirrus, I decided to pull mine (same bass as Dave's minus the mid-sweep) out of the archives for some play time.

True to Dave's comments, the bass is full of different sounds that are very appropriate for a busy studio musician. So what I am saying here is that the video was not a bunch of marketing hype......I experienced it all first hand with my cirrus 6 tonight.

I was thinking of listing it herea while back, but after playing it tonight.....no way I could do that. I have been playing my new Sadowsky nyc5 jazz for the past month and that is why the cirrus got hidden for a lil while.

So brutha's & sista's.....check out this fine example of a kick a$$ bass!

Good luck with the sale.

I love that Dave Hungate video on youtube !! I love his passion for the CIRRUS. He will admit in his years of playing that the CIRRUS is the nicest bass he's ever owned.

WOW - the neck on this tiger eye is a piece of art in itself ! What a great deal !

BUMP for one of the prettiest CIRRUS basses I've ever seen.

I've had several trade offers and a few "I'll buy it if I can raise the money" contacts, but bass is still for sale at this time. I prefer an outright sale.

Also a couple of folks have noted I have not sold on TalkBass before. I have a 100% positive rating on eBay and other online transaction sites. References will be provided via PM. Thanks! :)

This is a gr8 bass! MB94952 Just sold me his 4 string Maple Flame top Maple fretboard Cirrus and they do indeed ROCK! I also own a Peavey Cirrus 5 Bubinga top Pauo Ferrao fretboard what ever the spelling is on that type of fb. Whomever buys it will not be disappointed at all. This bass has the variable mid sweep 2 mids, one bass sweep, and one treble sweep as opposed to most Cirruses that have one bass, one mid, and one treble in the EQ. I would BUT IT NOW if I hadn't already gone and bought MB94952's. Hmmmm ya think the wife would notice after all she does like tiger stripe stuff? If I raise the capitol I just may.

Wow that is a beautiful Cirrus! I sold my cirrus a few months ago and miss it very much. Too bad that i'm broke and prefer 5 strings. You might regret selling it later :o Bump for a sweet bass!

Gee 1960 Les Paul, funny seeing you here buddy !! Yes, the CIRRUS's are the BEST ! I had mine serviced recently by a world famous guitar/bass builder here in Santa Rosa. He played my '99 Cirrus, looked at it a bit, and looked up at me and said, " I like EVERYTHING about this bass." Now THAT was a compliment coming from a legend. It turns out one of his techs has a Peavey GRIND !! I can't say enough about the CIRRUS.

I have received a lot of PMs asking me to consider various trades for the Cirrus. Please don’t be offended if I say no, as I am very picky about my basses. As you can see from the Cirrus I like them to be in excellent condition cosmetically as well as functionally. The main trade I might consider towards the Cirrus at this point is:

Excellent condition ’06 or newer Fender USA Jazz Deluxe 4 string with rosewood board. Ash models preferred though I would not rule out the right Alder bass. Color preferences are Butterscotch Blonde (strongly preferred), Amber, Sunburst, or Montego Black in that order. Bass must be near mint, have zero issues, and original case candy is a plus. Lighter basses given preference. I require low action due to wrist problems so frets and neck must be able to accommodate low action without buzzing.

I have found a bass locally and I am selling the Cirrus to fund that purchase, but I might consider trade offers for the right USA Active Jazz Deluxe. :eyebrow:
