Details

I'm selling my 1989 Pedulla MVP 4 (fretted, neck through construction) that I bought brand new in 1992. I've been the only owner and everything is original and in great shape. It has barely been played for the last 8-9 years (which is why I'm selling it, but it took a long time to get over my reluctance to get rid of it), but shows some slight signs of use from the mid 90s. A few chips and blemishes in the finish, but nothing that affects playability. You can see the worst of these in a little more detail at http://i735.photobucket.com/albums/ww355/NdoubleU/bass.jpg , particularly in pictures "A" "B" and "C". Other than that, it looks great, and more importantly, plays beautifully. I'm happy to send or post more pictures, or answer any questions you have. Original case included (pretty beat up, but totally functional - handle replacement is DIY but works fine).

Asking $950.00 shipped in the US (lower 48), but would ship to Canada for whatever the extra shipping costs would be. Price is not firm, and I'm open to reasonable offers!

Thanks for looking!

Bump. I've had a couple offers on this, one fell through and another is pending. Might not be around too much longer.

Thanks for the PMs so far, guys!

Still available - two offers fell through (one waiting in the wings, though). Someone brought up the possibility of a trade, and unfortunately I'm looking for a straight up sale -sorry! Realized yesterday that I have lost the trussrod wrench (Pedulla's require a particular tool), so I have ordered a replacement. If I ship the bass before it arrives, I'll send it along when it does (my expense, obviously). I've never had any problems with the neck, though, and used it very rarely. Also, I was asked if I can do paypal, and the answer is yes.

ReBass - I agree they are cool looking basses, but their construction, tone, and playability have always trumped their looks! Partly due to their shape, I think, I always found it to be an extremely comfortable bass to play, and very well balanced. Thanks for the comment!

I always wanted one of these. Not very often do 4 string fretted MVP's come up. Most of the time it's fretless 5'ers. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks, willsellout! I've seen a few 5'ers here and there too and didn't notice the lack of 4 string fretteds until you mentioned it.

Happy to do $1100.00 shipped if anyone's interested?!?

DAcat, width at the nut for this bass is also 1.5 inches, which I'm pretty sure is the same for the fretless models. Good luck with your trade!

bump! The owner's kit I ordered now accompanies the bass - truss rod tool, manual, and an allen wrench to adjust the saddle heights.

Happy to hear any offers - thanks!

Do you know the wood for body and neck and what kind of electronics?

Thanks.

fishhed - body and neck are both maple, fingerboard is ebony (24 frets), bartolini p/j pickups. I had always assumed the pickups were active because of the 9V battery (I was never a big electronics-ophile, obviously) but I think the correct answer is that they are passive with active electronics. Correct me if I'm wrong, somebody with more knowledge on the subject!

Thanks for looking!
