Bought this on a whim, but I'm finding I need some tubes for my application. It is in excellent condition and I'll ship it in the lower 48 for $450. I'd also consider trades for an Alembic F1-X, Demeter HPB-1 w/ Jensen, or other wonderful tubey things that could drive my power amps.

Yep, really only interested in preamps in trade or maybe an AG500SC.

I would only be interested in US trades unless you wanted to pick up shipping costs both ways.

I've been flicking through samples of the U5 on Basstasters. It's incredible how much better all the U5 samples are. Wish I had some spare dough right now.

Hey pickles, you want an Ampeg SVP-CL? That thing's loaded with tubes. (The "poor man's Kern," I call it.) I want to join the club of people who had a U5, got rid of it, and miss it enough to want it back (there are lots of us).
