Selling my mid-80's Fender 75' RI . Serial number dates her to 85/86. She's in exceptional condition and all original with the exception of a few upgrades:
Fender Custom Shop 60's pickups ($160 new http://www.samash.com/webapp/wcs/st...stom Shop 60s Jazz Bass Pickup Set-_-F2101000 )
Aftermarket (Gotoh maybe?) bridge. No mods were done to install bridge. Bolted right up to existing holes. Just a bit more beefy than the standard bridge. I had it laying around, but I think the bridge was $30 or $40 when I bought her.
Brand new Hipshot BT-2 Bass Xtender ($84 new ---> http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=57 )
Schaller strap lock buttons installed ($???)
That's about $300 in upgrades!!!!!!!!
Action is low, bass plays exceptionally well. Tone is awesome. Frets has almost no wear. Neck is straight, etc, etc. Really is a fine example of MIJ craftsmanship that everybody raves about. She has a few dings. As I recall, one very small on near the control plate and two other ones on the back of the headstock. Most of these sell for $650 - $775 w/o the upgrades. I'll let her go for just $775 which includes the upgrades!!!!! Yep, you get almost $300 in upgrades tossed in for free! Here are some pics. Sorry for the quality. These were taken with my cell phone. My son "misplaced" my real camera.
