Good day! SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

Up for sale is a very clean 2003 Spector Euro 4 (Ignore the title, it's not an LX). Condition is 9/10 with only two small marks on the back. It plays very well and sounds just like a Spector!

I'm putting this up for sale because I simply don't like the sound of split coil P pickups. I greatly prefer humbuckers and single coil J pickups so I can't really get the sounds I'm looking for out of the bass.

The only issue is a scratchy input jack that should probably be replaced, but still functions. $10 fix if you can solder. The bass will ship in a generic TKL case, not quite a durable tolex case but definitely a step up from a gig bag. Preamp is the tonepump.

As for price, I'm looking to get:

$800 + shipping costs

Obvious question: what color is this Spector?

If it really is from 2003 it won't be an LX either (and that's a good thing) it will have the better preamp.

It's a very dark blue. Under the right lighting it'll go anywhere from a rich blue to close to black.

As far as the date, I'm not a Spector expert by any means. The serial number is NB2635. If anyone knows what date/model that puts this at then please let me know.

Sounds like a Euro4. All maple, the pre...could be anything. Mine is about 500 serial numbers higher and has a Tonepump...which I like :p

Judging by serial number and stated year (2003) it's a Euro4 (solid body wings, better bass IMHO :D) , not an "LX". The "LX" series didn't start until 2004.

Preamp is probably a tone pump, but a few OBP-1's were still slipping through at this point. The black box will clearly be marked Aguilar if it's an OBP-1.

No "poo pooing". They're still fine basses.

I happen to not be a big fan of the laminated top look as opposed to the solid body wings of the former NSCR's and Euro4/5's. These are also incredibly close (in the case of my Euro4, maybe better :eek:) to my USA NS2.

Every Euro LX I've tried just didn't seem to feel as good or measure up (of course, if I owned it and put a set up on it and tweaked it over time it might be a different story). Coupled with the fact I don't care for the laminate look they all also have Tone Pumps. I've found I prefer the Aguilar or EMG pre's more.

So, the LX does not have solid body wings? I'm a little confused, maybe I should take this to the Spector Club thread.

Anyway, free bump for beauty of a bass.

Nope. You can see it on every opaque finished LX. They all have laminated top and back body wings.
That's why the front wood is so nice but the back wood is so plain in comparison.
Plus you can see the laminate stripe going around the outer edge of the body. This is no big secret.

Yeah the woods on this bass are stellar. If only I loved split coil pickups, but they're just not my thing.

Not to derail or discuss too much off topic of the sale, but Tone Pumps are really fine as long as you learn that you have to put them on about 1/10th volume. The output is ridiculous high!
