Details

I am selling my Delano P/J 5 string pickups. The pickups are PC5 AL and JC5 AL . (AL stands for Alnico 5 magnets) They are virtually brand new. I found that they do not work well with Audere preamp without modifications (coupling capacitors, etc...) and decided to go with different pickups. These sound GREAT and I wish that they would have worked with the preamp that I have. These pickups get Rave reviews and go for $300 per set of P/J 5 string. $160 gets this delivered to you CONUS.

Both P pickups are the same dimensions. (Sometimes the 5 string P pickups have 1 that is longer....this one doesn't, they are both the same on the split coil). It looks like 2.5" from screw hole to screw hole on each pickup

I also have an Audere preamp with a set of Delano's for my 5 string jazz and have found the same thing

It's strange that they don't work well together. The DELANO pickups sound great and are getting very popular in high end basses but they ground differently than other pickups. I may keep these and use these pickups in a passive P/J that I might buy (cheap). If I use them with a preamp, it will have to be a different brand. It's a shame because I really like the Audere and have that preamp in many of my basses with many different pickups. (Stock Fender, Nordstrand, Aguiliar...they all work great with the Audere)

I don't get it either but they just don't seem to work good together. I love the delanos. I'm going to just leave them in there for now maybe change the preamp out instead of the pickups since I already spent almost $300 on his pickups.

Yeah....me either. I think that I am going to hang on to these pickups. They sound great, they just don't like the Audere. I may put the Delano P/J in a passive bass, hate to get rid of good pickups for 1/2 price.

I have 2 maruszczyk basses with Delano. Very popular with the European bass makers as well as bass mods. I have heard that Sandberg also uses them
