Ernie Ball Music Man Big Al 4 SSS

Please note reduced price!

Bass was purchased in 2010 from Bass Central. I am the second owner. Very clean condition, with only the normal wear markings from 7 or 8 years of light usage. This is a remarkably versatile bass, because you can select the pickups in any combination with either active or passive mode.

I don't see many of these for sale right now. It's a cool bass - great playing and sounding.

Specs:
  • Finish: Vintage Sunburst, with shell pickguard and chrome hardware.
  • Body: ash
  • Neck: Maple with RW fingerboard
  • Scale: 34"
  • Frets: 22
  • Nut: 1.5 inches
  • Headstock: sunburst, matching body
  • Tuners: Schaller BM - placed in the 3+1 design.
  • Bridge: Typical Music Man
  • Pickups: 3x Original Music Man USA single coils with Neodymium magnets
  • Electronics: 3 x 2-way push button pickup selector, 2-way push button active/passive selector, 4-band EQ – 25kohm volume, treble, high-mid, low-mid, bass.
  • Original hard shell case
No trades please, but I will entertain reasonable offers. Price includes shipping in the Continental U.S.

How is the action?...have you ever need to adjust the action?...is 2010 when you purchased from Beaver?

I was not the original purchaser. But the bass was purchased from BC in 2010. The bill of sale is in the case.

I had the bass set up when I first got it (about 4 years ago), but have not had to adjust the action since. It's set up with a nice, moderate action - approximately according to factory specs.

I hope Sterling Ball is paying attention to the prices on used Big Als.

I'm guessing that these were quite expensive to manufacture, especially if you compare them to the new, passive models.
