This EUB got plenty of use in the past (as evidenced by scratches in pics), but has been overshadowed in recent years by its acoustic big brother.

The 42" neck gives somewhat of the feeling of an acoustic bass, and is capable of being bowed. Since there's no body, one can use thumb position or not.

The sound is decent--certainly not as good as an actual upright-- but is vastly improved with a preamp. NOTE: The ERGO has no volume or tone controls of its own.

The strings have been on for a long time, and if buyer likes the feel, should probably boil them (upright strings are expensive to replace!).

The ERGO EUB uses a cymbal stand, which I (and other ERGO users) found a bit wobbly; after the shaft started to bend, I altered it (see pic of rings) so that it would fit more snugly; the rings can be tightened, when necessary, with an allen wrench.

I'll include an inexpensive French bow, as well as an extra ring for the stand;
it will be packed inside the "case", which is actually a fishing rod case--which I'd purchased at the suggestion of other ERGO owners.

And, of course, everything will be carefully packed for shipping.

I checked the prices on used ERGOs, and am listing this one at around $200 less, due to the scratches shown in the pictures; asking $500 plus shipping.
FOR SALE ONLY.

No. We use his uprights in our school orchestras so there are 5 or so in the area. I have an 8 string fretless electric, and 2 (4) string electrics along with my ergo upright. Awesome guy!

I've bought 2 ergos in the past directly from the maker one in 2005 and on in 2019. They both had sticky tacky undried finish that made playing impossible. Does this one have any stickiness to it? I love the design and sound but I had such bad luck with this company I'm very hesitant. I've heard people say they've gotten good ones....

I never had that problem; my problem is that I’m not much of an upright player—EUB or acoustic!
