Up for sale is this bodacious parts Precision. Plays real nice with very comfy action, great p-bass tone from classic Alnico V pickups, and commendable sustain. Almost new fat 50's spec neck (All Parts, licensed by Fender), has truss access on the bottom with the big phillips-head nut just like the 57 reissue basses. Also, neck has a hand-rubbed clear nitro finish and contemporary Fender logo water-slide applied by the previous owner. Very comfy to play if you like chunky old-school necks.
Body is from a late-80's or early-90's Korean-made Squier in a super nice sandy blonde lustery finish which really pops in the light. Cosmetically a little banged up with chips and scuffs, complete with sticker ghost spots -- no goo, just slightly lighter spots where the stickers were, preventing the sunlight from aging the finish like on the rest of the body. A few finish cracks near the neck pocket and output jack. Tried to capture all these imperfections in the photos. Could easily add a Precision pickguard if you wanted to go for a more traditional Precision look.
Currently strung with a new set of Fender flatwounds, but can put roundwounds back on it for you if you're not a flats player.
I don't have a scale, but I consider this a relatively light bass. The body is nice and light, the neck is average.
Comes with a free basic gig bag or add $30 for the hardshell case in the photos.
Really a neat, unique workhorse bass!
$300 + approximate shipping to your location (includes gig bag, add $30 for hardshell case). CONUS shipping only and Paypal is preferred. In regard to trades, let me know what you have to offer, but I'm mostly looking to raise funds to offset a recent purchase.

What are the pickups?

I checked last night and the pickups have ceramic bar magnets underneath. Unsure if they are original to the body or not.

NOTE: Pickup upgraded to a traditional Alnico V precision pickup. Sounds like a proper vintage style P bass now!

Okay ladies and gents, I did something today that undermines my fund-raising/space-making efforts... after determining that the pickup was a cheapo ceramic pickup, I dropped in an Alnico V pickup and while I was at it, I strung it up with a nice set of flatwounds. It's wonderful!
Long story short, this one is no longer available. If at some point I come to my senses and decide that I don't need two Precision basses in addition to the rest of my stable, it might come back up on the block, though likely at a slightly higher price due to the pickup upgrade. If you were eyeing it up and want to call first dibs for if/when that happens, just send me a private message. Thanks for looking y'all.

NOTE: back on the block now, without a price-hike, regardless of the upgraded pickup and bridge.

Decided to put this one back out there for sale. Upgraded traditional style alnico V precision pickup and a much nicer high-mass bridge. Will still include the original bridge if you would like it. Can go right back on and will cover up the new holes drilled for this bridge. Happy 4th!

Couple of new photos up, taken yesterday for a potentially interested local chap. Still up for sale at the moment though! Surprised that nobody has jumped on this awesome dirt-cheap workhorse bass. One of the comfiest Precisions I've played (at least for people who like the traditional fat necks).

On a funny sidenote, check out my related thread about this bass: facebook thinks I'm selling body parts...
