Details

I picked this up last year here on TB via trade. I heard so much about these so I had to try one out for myself. I can attest to all of the hype on these that the tonal choices are many. That being said, I just haven’t bonded with the bass. That along with me having more basses than gigs last year has moved me to part with equipment that I’m not using now or in the immediate future.

The bass is in excellent shape except for a couple nicks on the back which are in the photos. I have no decent way to weigh it but it was listed right at 10 lbs according to the past owner.

It has not left my smoke free house since I’ve owned it. Adjustment tools included and will ship in G&G case that is in the photos.

No trades at this time.

$1500 shipped CONUS only.

Thanks, Todd

I out these on the short list of basses every bass player should own at some point. They are superb instruments and the design has influences every bass I have owned since.

The bass I have owned the longest is my CAR RB V. I don't play it very often but when I need the wonderful sound and look of a Fender it delivers every time.

Some have complained about the necks on these basses being too chunky...it is not a thin one, for sure, but it is extremely comfortable for me to play and I have small hands. It IS a personal thing I guess however I love the neck on the RBV. It is very fast for me to get around on.

Still the best 5 string bass Fender has ever offered....still the most wonderful electronics on any passive bass I have ever played...still wish they made both the RBV and the RBIV. Times change and basses that are not great sellers are discontinued. Hey the unique bridge used on the RBV is no longer available either.

Get yourself a classic and very useful 5 string Fender that really does sound like a Jazz bass that does not hum...gets in the P ballpark too.

I own one in Shoreline Gold. Simply a superbly crafted bass - and IMHO, one of Fender's best. Always wanted a 3TS version but couldn't find one after a long search.

The RB5 is a top of the line bass that plays like a dream and sounds awesome. I wish that I could justify two of the same...

I own two of these, one in Shoreline Gold and one Metallic Teal. You can get virtually any sound you want from one of these. I'd go so far as to say it is the most versatile bass I've owned with the possible exception of a G&L L-2000/2500. If you are considering purchasing one, don't be dissuaded by the comments about the neck. It plays much more comfortably than it looks to the "eye test". If I was forced to sell my collection of basses, the Roscoe Beck V's would be the last to go. They really are that good, and the one on sale here looks like a winner.
